Wests finish the first half of the season - GPS (round 7), Norths (8), bye, Norths finish bye, Wests, Bond. So both Wests and Norths will declare over the next three weeks whether either of them can make a real run at finals footy. Both clubs would like to pick up 2 wins over this period but...

Practically Norths and Wests are both in the same position in terms of playing finals footy - they need to win 8 of their remaining 10 games. At present GPS are in 4th with 16 points having played 5 games for 3 wins whereas Wests(15 points) & Norths(13) both clubs having played 6 for 2 wins. GPS...

Wests might be top of table in reserve (22 - 4W& 1L) but Easts are 2nd (18 points 4W & the bye). The issue of player movement between 1s & 2s at Wests is valid but unlikely - I think.

One wonders whether GPS every stop to consider what might have been if they hadn’t pushed Heeno out the door??

I don’t think Angus Wagner played colts I think he may have headed to Force straight from Churchie - he played juniors at Easts whilst boarding at Churchie. Happy to be corrected on this one.

My point about attrition is not so much about the extremely talented but about the players that disappears between colts and grades and is lost to the game. I think it fair to say that Uni’s connection to UQ and the University Colleges gives them a leg up in terms of recruiting lads straight...

What is Uni doing - they get the pick of the GPS school graduates then they try to squeeze 100 young men into 4 Colts teams and then don’t bring them through to grades. I would really like to see the attrition rate of the blokes who start playing colts at Uni. I have no sympathy for Uni which is...

Norths loss to Sunnybank may well comeback on them when the final four is decided.

If they weren’t already on wood Wests having a 1&4 start to the season are now officially in trouble needing to win 9 from 11. Nothing from what they have delivered this year points towards them doing so. Yesterday was yet another narrow margin loss in a big game.

I think sooner is fast approaching for the Bulldogs.

Round 5:Brothers v Wests is shaping up as a must win for the Bulldogs. A win v Brothers would be the shot of confidence that the Bulldogs need.

With respect i honestly think Wests are a long way from finals at this stage of the season. And, Norths despite vast improvement, need to start getting wins as opposed to honourable losses. But I share your passion for a Brothers-less final four.

When is the last time Norths beat Brothers?
