Wallabies vs Lions , 19th July Suncorp

Lions star in grave doubt makes it sound like he might not make it through the night rather than being unable to play a rugby game because of a foot injury.

Which is why Christy's "exclusives" are a bit silly. It wasn't exclusive, he was just the first to hit publish after attending a training session and media access that all the relevant rugby journalists were at.

That is also being speculated by Doran.

Wallabies vs Lions , 19th July Suncorp

Christy Doran is reporting that Tom Lynagh will start at 10. Certainly a bit of a surprise to me!

Wallabies vs Lions , 19th July Suncorp

I don't think Daugunu is a 12 either. I just think we are incredibly likely to have either a winger or the 23 who offers good cover at 13 at the very least. Given I am of the view that Jorgensen and Potter will be on the wing I think it is very likely Daugunu covers 13 in the 23 jersey. The...

Wallabies vs Lions , 19th July Suncorp

I think the main issue there is that if we end up with the back three being Jorgensen, Potter, Wright, Pietsch then there's no coverage at centre. I think Daugunu is still a strong chance at wearing the 23 jersey. I agree that Pietsch was better for Force vs Lions than Daungunu was for...

    Queensland Reds 2026

This is a Rugby Australia article. As KOB said, it is clumsily worded lumping him formerly being at the Reds with also being a Wallaby. The headline is "NSW Waratahs confirm signing of former Wallabies, Reds lock Blyth". The headline on the article on the Waratahs site says: "NSW Waratahs Sign...

    Wallabies 2025

We just played a test though and both our wingers looked really good. I'd be surprised if Schmidt isn't happy with the options he has available.

What really doesn't make sense is why you abandoned the Marce account.

    Wallabies 2025

All the previous reports have suggested that there would be a 40 player squad named for the Lions. I wonder whether Ross, Swain, Edmed and one other join the Wallabies after the game in Adelaide on Saturday?

So no Edmed and O'Connor added instead (replacing Lolesio). Josh Canham comes into the squad in place of Swain.

I would definitely be adding Edmed to the squad. If Foley or O'Connor was a serious option they should have been with the squad from as early as possible. I also take from the fact that Schmidt didn't select those guys to begin with that he's more likely to select Edmed now.

    Wallabies 2025

I think the main argument for Foley is that he's continued to consistently be the first choice 10 for one of the best sides in Japan. I wouldn't select him either. I figure we go with what we've got. If there was going to be a pivot to Foley or JOC (James O'Connor) it needed to happen sooner.

    Wallabies 2025

I agree with that. I do think whoever comes in is joining the back of the queue though. We're not going to shift from the Lolesio/Donaldson/Lynagh plan to JOC (James O'Connor) or Foley coming into the squad a week out from the first test and featuring in the matchday 23 for the first test.
