    Wallabies v England November 1

It was something like that, but also that has been fairly stable regardless of who is playing 10. Like a lot of teams we play off the 9 and outside of scrums and clearing kicks, the 10 isn't overly likely to be in a position to receive a pass from the 9 based on where we position the various...

    Wallabies v England November 1

I think people are getting too wound up over the lack of a 10 on the bench. It's not like we are playing our whole game through the 10 so the idea that Stewart couldn't fill in that role where you're required to defend, make a limited number of passes like everyone in the backline and some...

    Wallabies v England November 1

The medical advice is presumably that Salakaia-Loto can play at 100% and as coach you're selecting him because you view him as a better player.

    Christy suggesting: 3. Ala'alatoa 4. Frost 5. Salakaia-Loto 7. McReight 10. Edmed 11. Potter 13. Sua'ali'i 14. Jorgensen 15. Kellaway 18. Tupou 22. Stewart 23. Daugunu I assume Wilson and Valetini will both start but they're not mentioned in the article.

    Wallabies v Japan 25 Oct

It didn't matter what Tizzano did. The problem was Nonggorr not being bound to the maul and engaging with the Japanese defenders in front of the ball.

    Waratahs 2026

I think it's pretty clear that just about every team doesn't want to have possession within their own half from static ball. I wouldn't call the kicking pointless. The point of it is literally to improve field position with the view that it's better to be defending in the attacking half than...

    Wallabies v Japan 25 Oct

Was this due to the injuries and we ran out of substitutions? We made 8 substitutions as Canham and Robertson both had to leave the field after coming on as replacements.

    Wallabies v Japan 25 Oct

We have to use these games against lower quality opposition to expose some more players to test rugby. It's absolute a risk that we lose but it's also how we build depth and get a stronger overall playing group. The conditions were crap. We didn't play well and it was absolutely a game for the...

    Waratahs 2026

The Waratahs have signed Lachlan Hooper. The NSW Waratahs are excited to announce the signing of the talented Lachlan Hooper whose return to his home State will bolster the squad’s backrow stocks. Hooper, born in Bathurst, NSW and schooled at Sydney’s Barker College, is another product of the...

    Refereeing decisions

This is a major reason why it would be pointless having the referee do a press conference after a test match. There is a valid reason for them to discuss decisions etc. but it's completely pointless without them having had a chance to review footage etc.

Australia Wallaby A squad to play a Japan XV Saturday 18th Oct

How is this a thing that actually happens?

Australia Wallaby A squad to play a Japan XV Saturday 18th Oct

They alternate who hosts this fixture so presumably the away trips cost the Reds a substantial amount of money. I would think that the competitiveness of the games is relevant for this being able to continue as an annual series. Hopefully this is an outlier because most of the prior games have...

    Wallabies 2025 Spring Tour

I would have thought he makes this Australia A squad so there's a level of curiosity there in my view. The likelihood would certainly be missing selection altogether though. He's obviously not old at 26 but he's older than the other candidates to play 10.

    Wallabies 2025 Spring Tour

Our last Wallabies squad included O'Connor and Stewart so I think there's a reasonable chance Burey will be named in the main squad. That squad had 15 backs. If we named 16? Gordon, Lonergan, Thomas Edmed, Lynagh, Gordon Ikitau, Paisami, Sua'ali'i Jorgensen, Daugunu, Kellaway, Potter, Toole...
