Wallabies v Fiji, Sunday, 6 July, 1:30pm @ McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

This. I truly hope there was a light touch approach last weekend, though bewildering in a test environment, as the lack of line speed in defence and easy ruck ball was a far bigger concern than any forward passes. If they don’t defend like the Tahs they’ll be belted - the old adage of “who wants...

Wright is our best option hands down in Australia, no argument from me. However he is far from world class and the criticism has merit.

Australian Schools & Junior Rugby Championships - Sunshine Coast, 2025

Shame this event not the pinnacle it once used to be. NSW fast tracking half their team, best from Qld not participating, and no idea what has happened to a once strong ACT. Pathways are atrocious.

NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

Thanks for the feedback on the 16s selection process. Wasn’t aware Sydney gazzumped Schools. Still a nonsense similar to PONI that some anointed ones skip a step towards Waratahs.

Wow. CAS beat GPS. GPS get 8 in 16s schools and CAS 2? Waratah team not available so perhaps the CAS kids finished up there but I don’t believe it is selected yet? And I’m a GPS supporter. love rugby rep selection…

Wallabies v Fiji, Sunday, 6 July, 1:30pm @ McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

Well played Fiji. Wallabies …. Was so pumped after the effort of the Waratahs last night. Today Wallabies looked to be putting in the effort of a training run. so much aimless kicking, even on the break. no effort to get the ball to JAS in space I hope the game is a wake up call as otherwise...

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Times have changed, generally for the better but are always subject to improvement. I had the pleasure of being in elite athlete identification over 30 years ago across many sports with the AIS. Nepotism and family/ regional influence were rife. The focus was on the specific age group however...

I understand New coed strategy will be similar to Barker. Overall increase in size of cohort with a modest decrease in males. The bigger risk to the rugby in the school will be the choice to not send them there at all given the change from single sex.

    ISA 2025

Demographics and less room for improvement. Joeys is similar in the GPS. Generally dominate in lower age groups and playing field levels out (ho ho ho I won't go there) in the older boys. Lot of kids at these schools have more of a rugby (whether league or union) than most of their peers. Plus...

Yes the girls programs are screwed. None of the Sydney schools will travel to Orange so for reciprocal games Kinross is now looking to Canberra. Pretty poor form.

Western Force v Lions, Saturday, 28 June @ Optus Stadium 8pm AEST

I’ll take those odds. They’ll improve but Lions didn’t set the world on fire.

I think his misreading in defence which may not show in stats as missed tackles was my lowlight.

Force competed better than expected in first half then fell away. Scrum and lineout would have had Farrell concerned. Hamish Stewart will not be watching any reels from this game, awful.
