Div II don't have enough teams for pools so there are no finals - it's the same in the Opens.
Div II teams play only 3 games (they don't play on Day 1) but they are drawn against South Australia on Day 4; so it will be a virtual final if both teams win their first two games, as is expected.

I would like to see ACT/Vic/WA play their 2nds in Div II to bring the comp numbers up, and the total number of boys playing a good standard of rugby.
There are literally no negatives and plenty of positives (more boys exposed).

IT was very enjoyable game to watch. The forwards were good and the backs incredibly sharp.
The country boys were not shocking.
There was some funny looking fellow holding up a post at the end of the field that worried me a bit

Qland White13 WA 11
WA came out very physical and inside 5 mins Angus Taylor went over for a try with the conversion unsuccessful. A few minutes later Qland no 9 kicked a penalty 5-3
The Wa forward pack dominated Qland with a big march up the field nearly ending in a push over try. Their back line were pushing the last pass often which took the pressure of Qland. Qland for the first twenty with little ball kicked most of it away. At 20 mins Qland kicked another penalty and for the last 10 mins matched the Wa lads across the park but a fairly dour period with both teams grinding away at each other.
WA came out strong again in second half and their no10 kicked a penalty to lead 8- 6, once again the WA forwards marched Qland up the field but bad hands in the backs cost them the points. WA spent first 15 minutes in the whites quarter but didn't look threatening. At 22mins WA no 21kicked another penalty to lead 11-6 . A the 25 mins with the white pack matching the WA boys the whites scored a great try withHarry Wathan slicing through to score under the posts. No9 kicked the extra points to lead 13-11 . WA got a penalty on half way but were unable to put it over. Good start for both the teams but generally unable to finish off what they started.the WA forwards marching the whites up the field will have some of their pool teams thinking on ways to combat it but at this early stage would be surprised if either team has the fire power to overcome schools

Patience Bra, Uncle Lee has a cunning plan that will be revealed soon. The dogs need their constitutional, and the keyboard needs a quiet dry sherry for lubrication.
The weather was wonderful, and footy even better. View presented a great oval, although many boys have been reminded that clay cricket pitches are hard.
One walkover (schools/country), two games for the purist (Juniors/Vic & WA/Whites), and one where the scoreline didn't really reflect the blood, sweat and tears of the victors or the vanquished (Reds/ACT).
Pool B will be a very tough gig, Reds favoured but Juniors will make it bloody hard for them. ACT and VIC are not there for the photo opportunities.
Pool A Favourites are Schools after they ambushed a nervous Country. Whites and WA have announced that they will make it as difficult as possible for Schools to progress.
Plenty of opening day nerves that shouldn't be there tomorrow.

Vic are worthy of Div 1 status.
Surprise element may not be there tomorrow and it is unlikely that the Reds will take them lightly.
Should be a good game.

It was great to watch some rugby in which I had no vested interest and in which the players played in a good spirit.
Little or no pointless kicking.
I felt like I'd emerged from a coma just watching some kids going as hard as they could for the love of the game.
