They need a decent flyhalf.

Meh. There isn't exactly a good one available.

My preference is definitely to hand Bowen the reins and see how he develops.

I don't think Creighton has a particularly high ceiling and getting an older player in to steady the ship seems like a pointless exercise. This isn't a championship contender that just needs a 10 that can be steady.

It’s on him and his want.

He’s probably on a tidy pile of yen to play in a more consistent and less impact league. A bloke who faced injury ruin might have shifted priorities now.

Having said that with the 10s across Australia right now if he could put together a good showing here he could quickly find himself in gold. Maybe a couple of injury free years will get his mind back on climbing to higher levels.

He was more injury prone than Tommy Lynagh. Never a Wallaby imho.

You put him fit in the current group of 10s in the country and he makes a squad. Alternate eras wouldn’t have any of the current guys so of course he’d be given a crack.

If fit.

Thought he didn’t play though? Donaldson was part of those sides and and look where he is now?
Harrison played most of the games at fly half and then got injured. Donaldson came in once he got injured. Donaldson was playing for Randwick at the time not even a member of the Tahs squad. Not sure who the other fly halves in the squad were at the time but they were injured as well from memory.

I have been pondering why when every major side is working hard to improve line speed in defence; and the wobs sit back so passively

We can't deal with the line speed of the Lions, Ireland, England, the Boks, but we haven't decided to replicate it?

You'd think we'd be leading the way given we have rugby league.

I agree with the above. Sitting back is just gifting the opposition the advantage line. Just about every international side but us seem to have an up in your face defence with a sweeper.

Players are allowed to improve with time and experience. Donaldson and Harrison were thrown in way too soon and had to learn on the run. The Tahs should never have let them go. Donaldson has gone onto bigger and better things and if not for injuries Harrison would have also.
