Most frustrating thing about that article was he made some really good arguments around the handling of the selection, but wrapped it in the worst possible tone and hyperbole usually reserved for Sky After Dark.

Agree with this. I am concerned this is a season too early for him though - particularly given some of the injury problems he’s had.

I don't really have a better answer, but it's kind of incredible just how little cohesion Schmidt has built in that starting backline after so much focus on this first Lions test for years
