Another YC to Qld for a high tackle with about 5m left in 1H.
Two plays later forward line break, try by 9, converted 10.
26-0 with 2m left in 1H.

And that's HT after NSW repel final Qld attack

Another NSW try.
Then a YC to NSW 1 for high tackle after lineout.
33-0 with 25m left.

Qld did most of attacking during the man advantage but closest they get is held up.
33-0 with 14m left

And straight back with another YC to NSW.
Reserves very much on for NSW other than 4, 6 in forwards.

And despite streaming dropouts an end to end try from NSW down the left to finish it.
Missed conversion for
NSW 1 38 - QLD 1 5

The back to back YCs kind of cruelled NSW game in the 2nd half although 8 almost scored with a break followed by chip and chase.
Haslam 6 almost played full game and had a charge down, couple of strips from what I noticed.

And from the rugby com.au summary

NSW 2 58 d NSWJRU 29

And on the 2nd field
VIC U17 17 NSWJRU Barbarians 36
SA 62 d Tasmania 5
TAS Qld 29 d NT 14

Kid to watch is Cyrus Bloomfield (NSW1 13). Kid is a pro in one of the codes.

Harrison Dene (NSW1 10) is also a very good 10 with this being his 3rd year around the rep teams of various levels. He should be dominating from a playmaker stand point.
Only issue with Bloomfield is that his tackle technique is more league. If he is able to bring it down on a consistent basis maybe Union could be his game but I think he will end up in league in any event Dene is an exceptional player also and brings very good intensity to the game.

Looking forward to NSW1 & NSW2 match up, especially between the tight 5 and the 9’s. I think Dene is the better 10. The Barker 9 and St Augustine 9 should be a good battle. NSW2 definitely have bigger front rowers than NSW1 but 1’s are more mobile IMO. Go NSW!!

Seems a number of players in the PONI squad (Players of National Interest) have skipped this comp. Grover, Fonua, Risati, Gough and other from last years 18s and NSW 16s.

I personally think they should play but whatever the convo feels like battering my head against the wall now. I guess more boys are being given a chance to play higher level footy if we take the glass half full approach.
Risati missed this due to injuries. But set to return next term for Kings.

so can blokes from this make aus u18 september tour ?
Well Australian School will selects their side from here. Obviously some will also be selected into Aus 18. They will play a 3 way game against Fiji THEN the final AUS18 will then be selected from there to face NZU18.

Dene failed to find the sideline on 4x penalty kicks in one game. Definitely not the stand out no. 10.
Thought the NSW 1 no 9 was great today. Best supporting player on the field.

Agreed that Cyrus played very well today in attack. A force to be reckoned with if he can get his defensive game in check

IMO I have been very impressed with the starting back-row for NSW 2. I believe they are all ISA boys who at some point have represented AUS in rugby. I personally believe they are a force to be reckoned with, not only are they are agile and have strong running games, but their defense and ruck-work are amazing. Definitely keen to to see them go to work tomorrow against NSW 1

No. 6 - Oscar Cleary (Australian Schoolboys 2024)
No. 7 - Sele Mainakavika (Australian Under 16s 2024)
No. 8 - Noah Rylands ( Australia Under 18s Trial Squad 2024)
