Guess having four back rowers who don’t jump consistently is not helpful. But also over throws from both 1/2s. Plenty of drills next week.

The View forwards are easily the most underrated of the comp. A solid ball running, hard scrumming front row with Osbourne an unheralded standout. Great jumpers in Reich and Spora who also operate well outside the set piece along with two turnover winning “no 7” roles in Dempsey and Perkins.
The tight five has outmatched every opponent this year with the possible exception of New where it was quite even.
What has frustrated the pack is the seeming lack of will of the refs to permit actual scrummaging in the comp. Lots of penalties for angling, early engagement or whatever when absolutely splintering opposition scrums. The penalty or short arm often goes the other way.
No wonder our country sucks at the scrums if this is how the kids are brought up.
A bunch of relative no names in the backs with the possible exception of Grover, Plamondon and Scarr who are definite dark horses this year if they can overcome their Joeys nemesis (never a given) and play good return home matches against Kings and New and avoid a potential banana peel away at Scots.
A lot still needs to go their way, but they play like a side with a lot of belief as demonstrated today putting a 15 man Shore school to the sword while playing 50 odd minutes with 14 men.
Also worth mentioning that they are the only side in the comp sans imports, with zero come lately leaguies, or stars from warmer climes, big name or otherwise. A team worth admiring in the brave new semi pro era of AAGPS rugby.
Their weakness? Depth, which also flows from no imports. A key injury or two and it will be uphill for them.

Agreed the View forwards have repeatedly carried strong and challenge the line out have performed solidly. Marshalled by a 9 who is class they ran away with it. Shore have some challenges in the front row with injuries, backs looked more energised with JC at 10 (who impactful with less space - making me wonder what he would have injected from 15…...) however the back line looked under sized and error ridden when they forced their hands even though a man up watch the game back and see they missed the solid defence of the injured winger Dalemdia (sp).

Whilst I honestly cant say I have enough depth for a full team I do believe joeys 15 edges out Grantham, after his unsatisfying performance today.

Kings capitalised on the weaker new forward pack with 3 key injuries in Sheck, Simmons and the big no 5, which gave them easy metres and confidence to defend in wider areas, which made it very difficult for new to attack. Gonna be a tight race for the trophy.

I watched this game on streamer, and from what i saw, New's injury rattled forward pack was outmuscled by a strong Kings pack.

He was heroic today, although at times wanted to do it all himself. Would probably appreciate the space more at 15 I dare say.

i have got to say, Tancred (I) had a cracking game today. He really stood out in the scrums, holding his ground and making sure the team stayed solid up front. His technique was spot-on, he was getting his body position just right and gave the opposition no chance to push through. It was clear that he’s been putting in the work in that area, and it paid off big time.
But it wasn’t just about the scrums. His work rate was through the roof. He was everywhere, covering every inch of the field, always in the mix, whether it was getting stuck into rucks, making tackles, or offering support in attack. It was like he never ran out of steam. You could see the effort in everything he did, and it really lifted the team.
