are you kidding? Newington provide a muddy slope for visitors to perch on. Newington boys don’t even bother attending home games at the Stanmore airport. regardless Newington was the school that disrespected the walk on tradition at Hunters Hill in 1990, they are lucky we provide benches.

Really? Isn't it the same as Joeys sitting on the far side of the field at Shore and Scots and Kings...
I think that is standard practice.
I always sit on the grandstand side at Joeys but at the south end where the opposition parents, coaches and some boys sit. There is plenty of space for visiting teams on the grandstand side at Joeys. And I think the visiting boys enjoy being in a group on the far side of the field.
I don't love the booing during the kicks for any kicker but I also don't think it overshadowed an excellent Newington victory over Joeys yesterday.
How did they disrespect the walk on tradition tho?
What could Newington have possibly done 35 years ago that warrants them not deserving benches in 2025

With the likely inclusion of Callaghan, I think Shore are in with a red hot crack. We saw how dangerous Callaghan was last year and he will look to build on his GPS 1st XV season and put Shore back in the premiership hunt.

A game which was destroyed by shocking refereeing. Both sides were forced to stop and go and it was a hard watch for both view and Kings parents.
5 cards, 3 red cards for calls which are a penalty at best. I’m sure we will see the schools watch the footage and determine these boys are allowed to play this week.

Beautiful day at one of the best surfaces in Sydney given the horrendous weather of the last two weeks. Hats off to the Kings staff for that.
Watching the View side run out they looked ready. Looked like a side that was hurting after a loss to Newington that at times had the run of play but let themselves down. Dempsey pacing pre-kick off seemed to represent a side that was going to run harder, chase harder and hit harder than their opposition who by no means played badly.
As the game started and Kings rumbled into the View 22m it became clear of the sides directive. We're going through you and if you have a double digit number on your back you can put the track suit on. Fonua who is some player (Please RA lords sign this kid, he's as good a back-row talent Iv'e seen in the last decade in the GPS). Combined with the hit-ups from Bloomfield is quite the combo punch but also predictable and View did a good job to eat up a number of phases and force the big boppers to spend energy before TKS crashed over.
Have to be honest, I worried it may be a long day but following this the game flipped on it's head as View maintained possession and brilliant decision making from Grover and Garling steered View around the park and for back to back tries which seemed to stun the Kings group and deflate the mood and any momentum. Kings hit back late in half to end it 26/14.
Kings came out of the break and started well. The big boys had a rest and were ready to rumble again with some nice phase play and went in bringing it to 26/19 and feeling like TKS had the momentum at home.
Is this a repeat of last week? Turned out to be a big No. View with some brilliant interplay and dominating field position lead to back breaking tries as well as a charge down try which wasn't luck but that hunger to run hard and compete at every phase of the game. Forcing Kings to score on the 7th-8th phase instead of the 2nd-3rd paid dividends late as some of the big boys had cramps and View ran away with it ending 48/26.
Huge bounce back for SIC and given Newingtons result v Joeys should give them plenty of confidence moving forward.
This is a side with a ton of effort and some very good footballers. Plenty of praise always goes to Grover and Dempsey and deservedly so, but the combo of Osborne and Tancred and tireless with there carries and work rate around the park. Another shout out to Scarr in the 13 who has a lovely swerve at speed. We see plenty of guys that can jink and step but the Matt Rogers type swerve and hold speed is Rugby at it's best.
For Kings I'm sure Risati being out made a difference to the game plan as he's an outstanding talent but it was very predictable when they had ball in hand. I will say though if Kings get into the 22 your'e in big trouble as they execute the forward phase play brilliantly, and at this level you don't hold out once it's 7+ phases.
View are a resilient, fit side that won't beat themselves. They are very similar to last years side with a touch more elite decision making which is credit to the coaches and it seems Grover who is a lot like Fonua in looking like the real deal.
I can only heap more praise on the two round comp. Obvious bias in tow as right now Newington would be happy to see a one round comp but everyone is alive and it all seems like good footy. Bring on the rest of the season and hopefully good clear weather.

Whilst your point makes sense, lacks any depth with context. Yes Newington provide a muddy slope but they provide that for their own crowd and the away crowd. They both get a fair area. Whereas Joeys do not provide a fair area in comparison to what they give themselves. Not saying either is better but Newington’s is defiantly fairer
