I haven’t had time to watch anything but the last controversial penalty, so can’t speak to the refs overall performance.

View from the neutral: the last Scots penalty was totally legit. Shore forward playing silly buggers with his legs and the ball on the ground as the Scots half was trying to play the ball from the ruck. Advantage was played and it looked a correct ruling in isolation.

The manner and ticker shown by the shore school and their crowd was amazing even through the referees most dreadful calls seen in the history of gps schoolboy rugby.

this referee should never be able to ref again and should be brought to the judiciary of schoolboy rugby.

Absolutely appalled. The culture of New rugby at the moment is horrendous. I think everyone can agree that it’s unfair to all the New boys who have a dream of playing firsts one day, and then New bring in hundreds of thousands dollars worth of players in opens. Maybe they should consider investing more in junior development. @Joker would agree, we did have a chat about this.

I’d greatly appreciate if someone could do the numbers on Shore v Scots penalties

Not even attempting an exaggeration here but it might have been +20 in favour of Scots. Referees are important to the game but what we saw at the Death Star today was nothing short of disgusting. The passion that was shown by the Shore crowd was unbelievable. You boys didn’t deserve that. Hopefully he doesn’t get another gig anytime soon

An unbelievable win and one of the historic days in schoolboy rugby for Newington College, although I’m afraid it’s been overshadowed by the school’s rotten behaviour. In all my years affiliated with the College (ON1978), I have never seen such unsportsmanlike conduct when the Joeys #10 was being vehemently booed during a conversion attempt late in the 1st half.

Not sure if anyone else was there - but for me it’s completely unacceptable. And, with the final score being 40-39, it could hold serious ramifications for the season’s trajectory with Newington gaining momentum…

PS - does anyone have tabs on the Joeys #15? Was easily the best on field despite being on the losing team, and have heard rumours he’s in Year 10

Julian Minto, and yes he is in year 10. What a try, running over two new defender who were much bigger than him to score a 60+ meter try. Going to be a weapon for the joeys backline in the next two years.

It’s not just that one penalty that the Shore boys are up about. It’s the 20 ones from the last 10 minutes of the game where it got to the point where even myself was unsure what these penalties were even for

Red card to Scots!! Anyone see what that was for???

Sources tell me the Scots boy in the five jersey through around 10 strikes at the head to the blindside flanker of Shore (6). Quite disappointed to hear this still happens in schoolboy rugby and heard it was right underneath the assistant referees nose who did not attempt to break it up.

It was a build up throughout the game. The start was quite even, as the game progressed however the penalty count flew up for Scots. Shore supporters have full consent to be angry as that was a really disappointing display of reffing.

I am aware that the Scots No. 5 cannot defend himself so I will attempt to walk the tightrope.

Lets say the conduct showed by TSC 5 on SHORE 6 was completely disgr******** maybe a show of frustration or nerves getting the better of the lad. Who knows, but that conduct cannot (and was not) tolerated at any level.

The AAGPS suspension policy will come under heavy scrunity following this event.

Hopefully the lad learns his lesson because conduct like that has no place in AAGPS Rugby

Simmer down kiddies, emotions always high after a close loss. Refer forum guidelines and do not single out individual school boys for criticism, whether foul play related or otherwise (I've yet to fully comply myself ...). I like the thread to stay open.

Frustrating Kings 16As game. Plenty of clean jerseys out wide as the 12 and another couple of players decided to verse View By themselves. Disappointing rugby for Kings at this level.

Garbage re View. I think you threw that in for colour.

I have been to each View match this year including Trials and stand near to them.

They are well supervised and would be in major, serious shit if they did that, this year or any year.
