I think the reason his team won by so much was because of him. His X-Factor with the ball, paired with his playmaking, speed and agility lead to him being a real threat and leading SJC to what was a convincing victory

Rubbish !! He is good no doubt, but playing weak opposition in the 2nd XV recently
Playing behind a dominant pack helps too

Well since his Harold Matts season finished in March 2024, I would hope he isn't still signed with that team. However, he has recently played a season of SG ball with Penrith but I believe he is not secured for the future. While both NRL and Rugby AU are fighting for his signature, it appears that he will sign with the 'Stade Toulousain' French rugby side. This would be disappointing for us Australian fans of both Rugby League and Union but best of luck to Heinz which whatever path he chooses.

A bit of growth internationally will probably help drag the sport back up globally including Aus if anything.

At least he stays on the Union side.

Has a lingering knee issue but a broken finger vs Barker made it an easy decision to rest him for a week or two.

Totally agree, Combine Wendt on the wing when Callaghan returns at 15 and Rex at 10! The centre combination of Robertson 12 and Francis 13 were very strong last week defensively, it bodes well for the boys from Northbridge

Last I heard he was over in France signing a deal with Tolouse. Could be wrong though. Can anyone confirm?

I can confirm that he was recently in France being shown around a club and what life would look like for him over there.

Can anyone actually confirm if he is injured though. He did not appear injured in anyway after the game on Saturday

Actually would not mind that for Australian rugby. There is a reason the French side is the deepest in the world, their development of players over there is off the charts. I think it would do him wonders.

Take a wild guess, they are suggesting the school sergeant fills in the front row....

If he is fit to play this week, it will be interesting to see who they pick between him and Frape. Reardon seemed like he was the first choice pick at the beginning of the season but Frape has played 2 good games thus far and is making a real case for permanent selection in the team.

I think this is more recent than the game, guessing a training injury.

I know that the TKS v TSC game was a very brutal one across the park, so wouldn't have surprised me if he left the field with a little niggle and it got worse at training etc.

The problem is that all other second and back rowers are likewise deserving of their position, with 2 being vice-captains and 1 being a member of the winning team last year. Frape could move into the second row instead of Sidwell but I think Liam has played excellently and is a vital member of the lineout. Furthermore, Bede Clout did go off the field and missed the second half vs SJC so there may be a position open up there.

well said. Shore looks to have plenty of depth across all forwards positions and plenty of competition too. Can only expect that this lifts their standard as a group in 1s, 2s and 3s knowing that they're spots are constantly under pressure.

I don't think Clout's position will be open anytime soon. He only came off because of a light head-knock and has confirmed that he will play this week. Although, I could see him moving into the 2nd row which he has played plenty of time at, so I imagine he will feel comfortable playing there.

After just one round, I’d say the selectors are already tossing around ideas for the GPS 1st XV—and I thought I’d have a crack at it too. I’ve left out anyone currently signed to league contracts, as they’re unlikely to play or may opt out, like Rodwell and Humphries from N last year.
