Sydney Subbies 2025

What happened to that #8 you had last year? Very strong ball runner and defensively

Plan for this week is St Ives Kings 1st half on the way to see the end of Newport and Lindfield 2nd half before dinner at the Arms.

Pakalani came down last year as he worked with the coach. Unfortunately, he lived no where near St Ives so it was probably never a permanent option.

He is playing Rugby League over at Concord which is the area where he lives. Combined with the $$$ that he can get per game playing league, he was never a great chance of coming back.

I know we worked hard to recruit him at the Woods, having our spies at Subbies level.
Watching him dominate for the Saints, I think he could be a difference maker come the back end of the season.

We were interested in the fact that he turned up at St Ives - wasn't he affiliated with another blue and yellow team previously?

How do the Woods feel about their talent carving it up at Mosman this year?

Div 3, Round 4 predictions:

LCOI @ Beecroft:
Beecroft will simply be too big and aggressive in the forwards and too slick in the backs for LCOI to contain, especially at Headen. LCOI has shown signs of improvement this year, and will have brighter days ahead, but this isnt the week to back them to get their first win. Beecroft by 24. I'll give LCOI two tighter wins in 2nd grade and colts though.

Blacktown @ Hornsby: Blacktown on the road again as they get acclimated to Div 3. Hornsby should be a much more winnable outing for them compared to their debut at Hills last week, though they've been pretty comprehensively beaten through two games this year also. Tough one to call, but I'll give it Hornsby since they're at home this week. Hornsby by 10. I'll take them in 2s also, with Barker to get them in Colts.

Knox @ Hills: Game of the round for mine, the 3-0 Hills host a wounded Knox outfit at Yattenden. Hills looked very strong against Blacktown, particularly in the backs who ran riot all game, but you'd have to think Knox is a step up in competition for them, having beaten two of the weaker sides in LCOI and Hornsby prior. Garlick and Bugg look like real strike players outwide for Hills and will need to be contained if Knox is to have a shot at the upset here, but I'll back a third home side this week. Hills by 7. Two undefeated sides in second grade, I'll give the edge to Hills here at home. Knox to dog walk Colleagues II in colts however.

Yours,
PFE2

Sam Cale, Jack Whittaker, Jack Dalton, Luke Grima, James Day, Mark Quadrio, Jacob Bamford... A quick look over their teamsheets. These are the mid grade players we didnt expect to lose. Allegedly Rohan Zebib (Eastwood via Lindfield) as well.

So the Whales 1st grade backline then. The boys told me their backs were sharp! What grade at Woodies did they play, 3rd?

Maybe they aren’t fans of the drive to Castle Hill?
Only one trip west in Div 1

Firstly, the drive to Castle Hill is no sure thing at the moment. I'm not sure any ground has officially been broken?

Secondly: the whole reason for the move is to get Eastwood closer to their player base i.e. Dural Juniors and Oakhill College.
