Highlanders v Reds Sat 22nd March 1:35pm AEST

Daugunu will deffs need a rest at some point. But I would try not to rest him until we get flook, jock or Henry back. Maybe the chiefs game. That could be a write off.
We’re at Suncorp v Chiefs and we’ve beat them in regular season the last 2 yrs. Need to back ourselves and play our best team.

Good keen game of grunty rugby.

How did everyone enjoy The Damo Experience? Tommy I mean Damo Can You Hear Me? Can You Feel Me Near You? Damo's refereeing has ascended to a higher astral plane, an elevated veldt of pure expressionism, rugby football refereeing unrestrained by tactile notions such as "touch" and "contact". Damo conducts a free flowing allegory unbound by the rules and laws which limit normal rugby games to such moribund stop start earthly concerns, a staccato in D major.

Yeah*, I was looking at this a week or two ago based on a 6 team limit on previous seasons. In the past 4 or 5 wins has made the top 8 final, but there's always been a big split around 5th or 6th

I think we also saw last year how important it is to have a home final so scrapping in onyl extends the hope by one extra week I'm afraid.

As an aside, we need that top 3 sewn up a week before the end of season - our last game is in Fiji, if we can't rest for that we need the buffer that top 3 gives in case we struggle the next week, as most teams do.

That was outstanding from the Reds in the second half, especially in the tough stuff. I thought they dominated and the Highlanders were lucky to be in a position to get a BP at the end. Hodgman immense in the scrum and the back five very, very good in the loose around the park.

Pretty impressive win given the injury toll and resting Tate & Smith.

That is definitely worth saying. Kiss has been working full squad readiness but did seem to have an unstated anxiety with it proving necessary. Not as much as mine though! Very impressive to be achieving a W in NZ with the broad squad. Awesome work from t he Reds.

Did Pakeho end up on the field last night?

I know it can be a bit of tokenism- but always nice to see young guys like that get at least some minutes at the end of an important win like that.

Great win. The Highlanders really applied good pressure in the 2nd quarter and I thought they were going to run away with it.

Lyangh’s field kicking was great, gets great distance (though he left way too many points out there from the tee).

McReight’s absence was noted. Nice to see Ryan get a little bit of magic back after some quiet games but how amazing is Tangitau, genuinely unplayable. Surely going to be an All Black pretty quickly.

Yeah I thought they were going to run away with it too and the Reds did very well to wrest back the momentum and in the end win running away.

Looked tired with a few of the last attempts. He would still be striking high 90% though

Lynagh played the whole 80mins yeh? I think he’s taken a clear lead in terms of the best flyhalf at the Reds.

Quite interesting because a lot of noise about HMP end of last year and wanting him to be featured more heavily for Reds and even Wallabies.

HMP was definitely on near the end. And he needs to play more minutes to develop.
