QLD Premier Rugby 2025

Re the Highlander's, I think you'll find it's players with no club affiliations.
I know the DMac impersonator at the back is a Green Island Boy and won't be playing for anyone else.
Especially if Marty Banks has anything to say about it :p

This only applies to Super Rugby teams, due to them being employers.

If pro players don't nominate an amateur club, the CBA allows the state union to direct them to play for whichever club the union decides.
"If they don't nominate an amateur club" is the key part there, they can't be blocked from nominating one just so they can then be directed to one via a draft or some other means. There is no mechanism available for the super rugby sides or the state unions to redirect professional players who have already declared their club.

Some other notable inclusions this year for easts apart from already mentioned BJ Oates, Jethro Felemi

The boy from Theodore - Angus Wagner - (formerly Western Force) is also on the way back to Easts where he played juniors whilst boarding at Churchie. He was at Uni at the end of last year.

Hopefully Simon Craig changes the way they attack then otherwise these additions are pointless

yeah agree

couple years ago under Mowen when they were one short off the Prelim final it was a very boring (but highly successful) kick and play field position game plan. The poor halfback must have had a sore foot from all the kicking he did

Last year under Craig, there was a plan to be a bit more attacking but I don't think they had the personnel to do that.

See how they go this year.

Some great young gets there for Norths. Here's to hoping they can develop further with greater exposure to 1st grade.

These boys might start a trend drawing players away from brothers if they have some success. Playing prem grade sounds a whole lot better then being around reserve/3rd grade at brothers after their reds contingent parachute in at the end of the year.

awesome to see norths get some back. They are building something there for sure. Have improved year on year and I think players want to be part of that and are starting to see it. Colts program has improved out of sight too

I'm on the bandwagon!

Up the eagles

I see their main field is flooded again after just refurbishing it.....

They might be better setting up a Water Polo Cub.
Their field will be fine, in time for the season. A few other clubs will also have been inundated. Think the rest of the comments not worth responding to, hardly the time.

The issue is if the get knocked out in the finals in one of the grades then they find themselves ineligible for a lower grade in the finals because they have played most of the season in a higher grade. So they could well find themselves sitting on the hill for GF day.

They need to rearrange their field configuration. That main field floods to often for them to keep dumping $$$ into it. They would be better off turning one of their training fields into the main as they are at least 10m higher.
