I am assuming Rugby Union will be called off this week?
We can't have people driving around with their life at risk etc through what is happening in the world. There are bigger issues than the Kentwell Cup.
Guessing with the latest restrictions ie anyone who has worked in the city is on lockdown, subbies will be rethinking running games this weekendGames going ahead with some restrictions in place - masks being the big one for anyone not in the playing field, basically.

Would be a shame if the season was turfed at this point, tho having to run under COVID restrictions like last year would very much suck.
OTOH, not having to stress about running our last 2 home games is definitely a plus![]()
I'd like to think they'd avoid cancelling the season at all costs.
Can you imagine how much harder it will be to get rego's out of people next year when "the season might get cancelled again".
Excellent point. Worth noting tho that the annual costs to the club are unlikely to change.

Obviously the health guidelines that emerge later next week will be the guide, but as July 10th was wet weather week for everyone, I don't think there will be any rugby that day anyway; with no training allowed it'll be much like last year, in that clubs won't want to go in cold.
Email today saying the next iteration of the Subbies Womens 7s due for 10th July is cancelled. Bummer.
Subbies need to make a decision now.
I would say minimum of 3 weeks of competition before finals is necessary to make is worthwhile, otherwise you might as well just go straight to finals based on the current standings. Good luck getting players to turn up for 2 games if their team is already out of it, you'll just end up with guys playing playing multiple games and a mountain of injuries.Good plan - definitely playing into October is off the cards with pretty much everyone who has a cricket oval on their ground(s).
If finals goes from 3 weeks down to 2, then clubs will want 2 weeks of competition to try and push into top 4 while getting their combinations back on the field, and at least 2 weeks training to get back into the swing.
So we'd probably need to be back training with full contact no later than 16th August - tho our blokes would be happy with 1 training sesh![]()
The question is which 2 weeks of the regular competition would be scheduled![]()
