How does the ARU 2 year age grade pathway window reconcile this?

I know that some exceptional kids have no difficulty playing many age grades above their actual age grade, but some ARU bureaucrats have been cracking down on this of late.

17 of the 23 are GPS boys, is this due to the fact that most GPS kids no longer play village Rugby and are not considered for Sydney?
No innuendo's regarding this, just seems there must be a factor behind such a massive over representation from one segment of the 16's playing pool of kids.
Or is it just that there is a lot of depth in the GPS system in this age group, and they are better?
Don't really want to get into the politics of who selected the side,& who wuz robbed etc
just thought there might be an obvious explanation

Most of the kids that go to the large "rugby" private schools can't play for the junior clubs they used to play for because they don't have time to and it would be a good trick if they were boarding. That's not just GPS but CAS etc also. It's not impossible though: Cameron Clark from Knox missed out on the NSW Schools U/16 team but played in the tournament in the Sydney Juniors team through is junior club, Wahroongah.

I can't answer why there aren't more kids from the other school groups but 17 out of 23 from GPS is the highest representation I can remember. It was only 10 last year and a few years ago there were only 8.

8 GPS players from this NSW schools team have played First XV for there school, allan alalaatoa, harry rorke, mitch wheatley, jack demsey, jim stewart, alex vlahos, david horwitz and mitch wheatly have all played first XV while charles Ingram-Melsom playing XV at waverly.

Having a look at the Qld teams,of the 46 boys selected across both teams there are only 9 from non-GPS schools.Makes fro a "scary" direction in years to come.Surely there are other boys from outside that " catchment" that can manage selection in these teams.Otherwise there will be a certain decline in "interest" from boys to play rugby if they see the pathway is somewhat limited.

The problem in QLD is that a lot of schools show up to the U15 State Champs and pick up players there. So if you perform well in U15, you get picked up by a GPS school and the chances are you will get a look in for the U16 the next year. Also the rugby programs at GPS schools are quite good. It would be nice for the growth of the game if kids stayed at the school where they started but then there is a chance they would be lost to rugby.
